New definition of a light hitter
Sporting News, The, Sept 16, 2005
White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle accused the Rangers of cheating at home, saying it's known around the league that the team signals pitches to its batetrs through a high-tech light system in center field. Here's how it works: If an off-speed pitch is called, the light flashes once; if the catcher sets up outside, the light flashes twice, and so on.
And then when the home team is pitching, the light beams continuously signal incoming batting practice fastballs.
