Fearless forecast
Sporting News, The, Sept 20, 2004
1 p.m. ET: St. Louis at Atlanta. A combination of the Falcons' running game and Michael Vick will help neutralize the Rams' defensive speed and keep the visitors' potent offense off the field. Jim Mora's aggressive scheming will lead to key turnovers from inconsistent Marc Bulger. Prediction: Falcons 24, Rams 20.
1 p.m. ET: Washington at N.Y. Giants. Clinton Portis' explosive running will be too much for the Giants to handle. So will the Redskins' blitzing defense, which will disrupt New York's passing game all afternoon. As a result, the Redskins will dominate time of possession.
Prediction: Redskins 20, Giants 10.

Indianapolis at Tennessee. The Colts will rebound from a tough loss at New England by putting together another inspired road effort against their AFC South archrivals. Peyton Manning will outduel fellow 2003 co-MVP Steve McNair, with a big assist from Edgerrin James. Prediction: Colts 27, Titans 23.
Minnesota at Philadelphia. With two excellent passing combinations--Daunte Culpepper-Randy Moss and Donovan McNabb-Terrell Owens--dueling on Monday night, expect an exciting, high-scoring game. The key will be which offense displays the most versatility, and the slight edge goes to the Eagles. Prediction: Eagles 34, Vikings 31.--V.I.
