TSN's 12.5

Half the size, twice the value

Rk. Team W-L Next up

1. Georgia (1) 2-0 Marshall, 9/18
The Dawgs win ugly--not unlike the NFL's Patriots. Get used to it.

2. Oklahoma (3) 2-0 Oregon, 9/18
Scored TDs on its first seven possessions Saturday, which begs the
question: Why not eight?

3. USC (2) 2-0 at BYU, 9/18
Hey, if Michigan got whupped by Notre Dame, and the Irish got whupped
by BYU, maybe ... nah.

4. LSU (8) 2-0 at Auburn, 9/18
If the "D" doesn't stop the run against Aubie, it won't matter who
Nick Saban's quarterback is.

5. Miami (6) 1-0 Louisiana Tech, 9/18
It's one thing to shut down Florida State, but how will the Canes do
against a real offense?

6. Texas (7) 2-0 Rice, 9/25
Looked a little soft compared with Arkansas, but then, we are talking
about the Longhorns here.

7. Ohio State (5) 2-0 at N.C. State, 9/18
OSU is minus-7 in turnovers. Next thing you know, Jim Tressel will get
all conservative on us.

8. California (10) 2-0 at Southern Miss, 9/16
Yo, everybody on the Bears bandwagon--you better buckle up for this
ride into Hattiesburg.

9. Virginia (11) 2-0 Akron, 9/18
O-line play might be boring, but offenses blow away expectations when
their fat guys are good.

10. West Virginia (12) 2-0 Maryland, 9/18
Big East pride is on the line. What's left of it, anyway.

11. Florida State (4) 0-1 UAB, 9/18
Fearless prediction: After this week, there won't be any more winless
teams in our poll.

12. Purdue (--) 2-0 at Illinois, 9/25
The Boilers have outscored opponents, 110-7. And they haven't even
played Michigan yet.

12.5 Junior Louissaint
Before we forget him forever, one last bow to the Troy guard who
rumbled 63 yards for a TD.
