With two fourth quarter touchdowns that led the Irish over No. 8 Michigan, the true freshman was N.D.'s secret weapon--so secret even Notre Dame didn't think to use him in its opener at BYU, where the sputtering Irish offense managed only 11 rushing yards. Walker topped that total 10 times over against the Wolverines, with 115 yards.
