New England at Carolina. This Super Bowl 38 rematch features two talented, well-coached teams. Each team has a solid front seven with which to contain the other's power running, so look for a Tom Brady-Jake Delhomme duel, with the late field-goal edge going to the home team. Prediction: Panthers 23, Patriots 20.
San Diego at Denver. With both teams coming off losses, this will be a critical division game. The Broncos' front seven can slow LaDainian Tomlinson, and at home, Jake Plummer will comfortably take advantage of play-action chances against the Chargers' young secondary. Prediction: Broncos 31, Chargers 23.
New Orleans at N.Y. Giants. Playing their first home game away, the Saints will continue to play hard with heavy hearts, but the Giants also were impressive last week. Both teams will try to pound the ball, which favors New York's backfield depth and stronger run defense. Prediction: Giants 26, Saints 21.--Vinnie lyer
