Fearless forecast
Vinnie Iyer41:5 ET: Green Bay at Indianapolis. Look for the Colts' momentum from an impressive road victory at Tennessee to carry over into their home opener as the combination of Edgerrin James' explosive running and Peyton Manning's play-action passing will keep Green Bay's blitzing defense off-balance. Prediction: Colts 31, Packers 27.
1 p.m. ET: Philadelphia at Detroit. The Lions are off to a surprising 2-0 start, but look for Andy Reid to get the better of Steve Mariucci in a battle of former Packers assistants. The Eagles' offensive versatility and defensive aggressiveness will pay off. Prediction: Eagles 27, Lions 17.
Baltimore at Cincinnati. The key will be the Bengals' offensive balance. They can pound it on the ground or open up their downfield passing game. Look for them to eke out a narrow victory. Prediction: Bengals 20, Ravens 19.
Dallas at Washington. The team with the most indefensible, game-breaking playmaker will prevail in this much-anticipated matchup of coaches Bill Parcells and Joe Gibbs. Look for Redskins running back Clinton Portis to get the ball often on runs and screens, which eventually will wear out Dallas' young defense. Prediction: Redskins 17, Cowboys 14.
