Joe Horn

Sporting News, The,  Oct 7, 2005

Saints wide receiver Joe Horn's stats in a victory against the Panthers may not look like much: five catches, 66 yards. But two of those catches and 36 of those yards came in the final minutes of the game, when the Saints drove the field and won by a field goal. The numbers are more impressive when you consider Horn, a native of Tupelo, Miss., probably was more concerned with helping victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Horn lifted evacuees' spirits at the Astrodome and Kelly USA in San Antonio, where he offered emotional and financial help. He also has been the spokesman of the Saints Hurricane Relief Fund, which has raised almost $300,000. And although football does not fix everything, he dedicated his contributions on the field, which proved to be quite valuable, to hurricane victims.
