1 America's top five quarterbacks through September: Matt Leinart, Vince Young, Drew Stanton, Sam Keller--Arizona State's star who's probably the most underpublicized--and Chris Leak (right), who is adapting well to Urban Meyer's offense at Florida.

2 Hokie, Hokie, Hokie, Hi! The boys from VPI are a dominant team and my alternate entry to Pasadena to face USC if LSU doesn't get there. Though USC and Texas get all the headlines, Beamer Ball keeps getting it done.

3 Back off, Mother Nature. College football has America's most exciting regular season, but it's the shortest, too--and the hurricanes that have plagued the gulf region through September already have turned one-third of the season upside down.
