Chase Utley, 28, Philadelphia Phillies

Sporting News, The,  Oct 14, 2005

The Phillies fell short in the N.L. wild-card race, but Utley did all he could to keep them alive. He batted .522 (12-for-23) with four home runs, nine runs, 10 RBIs and two stolen bases in six games. Utley piled up a 1.819 on-base plus slugging percentage, helped by six walks. It was a huge finish for a guy in his first full big-league season.
