QB Matt Leinart, Southern California

Sporting News, The,  Oct 25, 2004

In last week's quarterbacks duel, perhaps Arizona State's Andrew Walter forgot his saber. Leinart, however, was armed and dangerous--by halftime he had thrown for 193 yards and four touchdowns and run for another TD. Walter managed 181 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions to Leinart's 244 yards, zero interceptions and one Heismanesque performance in the Trojans' 45-7 rout of the Sun Devils.
