2 RB Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma. The fabulous freshman has churned out two 200-yard games and will get another against Texas A&M. Season stats: 1,272 rushing yards, 8 TDs.

3 QB Jason Campbell, Auburn, His candidacy can take a huge step with a big showing against Georgia on November 13. Season stats: 1,724 passing yards, 14 TDs, 3 INTs.

4 QB Jason White, Oklahoma. He has shaken off an early-season funk and is performing at his 2003 Heisman level. Season stats; 1,838 passing yards, 20 TDs, 4 INTs.
