Getting in the second half groove with Otis Williams

Sporting News, The,  Nov 11, 2005

Lookin' for some direction on the road to Motown? We asked the Temptations' Otis Williams, a big NFL fan who is good friends with Jim Brown and has performed at the Super Bowl.

Current NFL player with the most soul: LaDainian Tomlinson. Aside from him being such a great athlete, I like the way he carries himself, the professionalism about him. You get a lot of these guys ... they make a touchdown and do all kinds of crazy-ass dancing. He's just very business-y, with a lot of soul and determination. He comes off like a professional businessman, and I like that.

NFL jersey he'd want to buy: Michael Vick's. He's just a talented young man, and he's fierce. I like the way he plays. I just feel with all that running he does, it's going to shorten his career. I just wish that he could get better protection. He's a dynamic athlete.

Stadium song that should be banned: I'm so geeked watching football that songs they play don't bother me because I know they're just for the moment. And thank God they don't play them all the time, every time. One (song) I do love is the one they've been playing all these years. Da da da daaah, duh-duh-dum (Monday Night Football theme). I love that. I hope they don't ever have to change that because it's so dramatic.

Super Bowl matchup: Cowboys and Colts. The Colts will win because they seem to be more well-rounded than the Cowboys. I'm a Cowboys fan, but they run hot and cold. The Colts seem to pretty much be running on all cylinders.
