Warrior mentality: golden state's three rookies are learning about life in the NBA as their team learns how to win

"It was about 10 at night," Murphy says. "Everything is open, the lights were on, but no one was shooting. I was like, `What the hell is this?' Then I look up and Gilbert was in the hot tub, relaxing. I don't know, I think maybe he was with his girlfriend. It was just like `Oh, man' I just turned around and left."

Ah yes, life in the NBA.

Caught in the draft

From 1988 to 1992, the Warriors drafted Mitch Richmond, Tim Hardaway,
Tyrone Hill, Chris Gatling and Latrell Sprewell with their top picks.
All went on to be all-stars. In 1993, the team drafted Penny Hardaway
in the first round and traded him for Chris Webber on draft night, but
since then, drafting success has been elusive until this season.
