1 Adrian Peterson gets my vote for the Heisman; he has separated himself from other running backs. But Matt Leinart might have sewn it up last week. How far has the Heisman fallen when you just have to beat up a bad Notre Dame secondary to win it?
2 South Carolina's and Clemson's decisions to forgo bowl opportunities have been lauded by many, but it's easy to be noble when you're 6-5 and going to Shreveport or Boise. I dare say the schools would have taken different paths if they had been 10-1 with chances at BCS slots.

3 It sickens me to hear school presidents talk about how much they value the bowl system as a part of the rich tradition of college football. If they really cared about tradition, they wouldn't totally disregard the contracts bowls have with conferences.
