Draft dish

Sporting News, The, Dec 9, 2005

Despite being double-teamed all season, Texas DT Rodrique Wright still is one of the draft's top five defensive tackles. He has the size (6-5,306), speed and mean streak NFL coordinators want in a D-lineman. With a strong showing during postseason testing, Wright could become a first-round pick....

Ohio State S Nate Salley is a hard hitter with the size (6-2,218) to be a premier NFL safety. But to be picked on the first day of the draft, he'll need to improve his 4.65 speed. He's effective in run support and uses his wide wingspan and ball skills to defend the pass well.... Oklahoma OL Davin Joseph, who's playing tackle this season but is projected to play guard in the NFL, has a powerful frame and has displayed solid pass-protection skills. Expect him to be a top 25 selection.... Keep an eye on Oregon CB Aaron Gipson, an all-around playmaker whose stock is rising. Though he's undersized (5-9, 179), he could be picked early on Day 2.
