Sporting News, The, Dec 13, 2004
STRENGTHS: Has excellent athleticism and explosiveness. Is a one-gap penetrator who likes to beat opposing linemen off the ball. Presents a tough matchup in terms of quickness for some of the league's bigger, slower guards. Takes good angles to the ball. Is excellent in pursuit and will make plays on the back side. Can adjust on the move and is a very physical tackler. Has good burst to the quarterback, uses his hands well and plays with leverage. Holds his own against the run. Plays with a high motor and can attack quickly off the snap. Can be very difficult to block one-on-one.

WEAKNESSES: Lacks ideal power and bulk. Plays high at times, which gets him into trouble. Can be driven off the ball. Doesn't have many power pass-rush moves. Isn't an effective bull rusher and relies on athleticism to beat opponents into the gap.
BOTTOM LINE: Williams is an outstanding young player who has settled into the Vikings' scheme this season after a strong rookie year in which he started at left end before moving to tackle in the final month. Because of his ability to penetrate quickly, he attracts a lot of attention from opponents. As the Vikings' edge rush improves and draws blocking attention from Williams, he will become an even bigger force inside.--War Room scouts
