TEXAS

Ohio State

The tone-setter for the season. Texas pulled out a victory over a legitimate top five team despite three turnovers. This was the first indication Vince Young had become a complete quarterback and the first glimpse of a new star: running back Jamaal Charles.

Oklahoma

Who's your daddy, Oklahoma? All those emasculations at the hands of the Sooners were stamped out. The victory over the 400-pound Stoops-zilla finally pushed the Longhorns to the other side of the hill, where life felt a lot simpler without a crimson-and-cream hangover.

Texas A&M

Yeah, we know it's a big rivalry and all. But, come on. The Aggies had one of the nation's worst defenses and V.Y. couldn't give us a little Heisman magic? The big question: an anomaly or an omen?
