STRENGTHS: Is a power runner with good size. Is very productive between the tackles and does an excellent job of picking up yards after contact. Has good overall balance and falls forward for yards. Has more niftiness than defenses give him credit for. Shows good quickness getting to the line and superior vision. Lets his blocks develop, makes cuts with suddenness and is very capable at cutting back against the grain. Is a solid blocker who has the ability to pick up the blitz. Catches the ball well.
WEAKNESSES: Has struggled at times with some of the basics of the position. Doesn't always display good technique. Has trouble handling the ball at times. Doesn't have tremendous explosiveness and hasn't shown consistent big-play capability. Needs to improve his route running.

BOTTOM LINE: Johnson was drafted in the first round in 2003 basically as insurance for Priest Holmes, who was returning from a serious hip injury. Until this year, Johnson didn't have much of a chance to prove himself, but he has made the most of his opportunities and is showing what kind of a player he can be.
