Western philosophy

Count 49ers FB Fred Beasley among the players excited that the basic West Coast system will be emphasized on offense. Beasley was concerned his services as a dominant run blocker wouldn't be needed if the 49ers brought in a more pass-heavy scheme. The running game plummeted this season when the offensive line struggled, and Beasley's lead blocks often were nullified by the presence of extra defenders in the box.
