Bob Hille's Starting Five

Sporting News, The, Feb 21, 2000

1 The Junior Griffey trade. It's a dream come true for Cincinnati, right up there with the Bengals winning a football game or the Bearcats graduating a basketball player.

2 Tiger Woods' streak. Anyone could win that many tournaments in a row. Let's see him do what a real golfer can do: Bill Murray in Caddyshack.

3 The Daytona 500. It's the Super Bowl of NASCAR. The only difference: At Daytona it's the fans on the infield, not the drivers, who get arrested.

4 Garth Brooks, baseball player. He's due in the Mets' camp any day. The advance scouting report: Good hat, no field.

5 NFL free agency. It's pro football's version of the dating game, except aging stars who are released get to tell teams where to kiss them goodnight.
