1 The NHL. On the bright side, I saw Brendan Shanahan's game-improvement suggestions used in Disney On Ice's Finding Nemo.

2 The Nextel Cup. Some say competitive disadvantages render the season meaningless and its result a foregone conclusion. As a Colorado Rockies fan, let me just say, "Welcome to my world."

3 Spring training. Great time of year. You can watch pitchers practice covering first, then stick around to see steroid-abuse enablers practice covering their asses.

4 NBA security. The new measures should help. I was disappointed, however, that the league stopped just short of outlawing Charles Barkley's golf swing.

5 Reggie Fowler. He'll be the first black NFL team owner. Talk about defying the odds. In fact, I'll bet if he set his mind to it, he could become a D-IA head football coach someday.
