Touch football

Sporting News, The, Dec 16, 1996 by Paul Attner

"We just couldn't agree on a merger; I really didn't want the Steelers to be one of the teams that moved over to form the new (AFC) conference," Rooney savs. "My dad (Art) and I went out to dinner one night during the talks, and when we came back, Pete handed me a piece of paper, folded in four sections. On each section was the name of four teams: Houston, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Cleveland. It was the division I wanted for us to merge. He never said a word, but we both knew what it meant. He had our agreement."

And, oh yes, George Preston Marshall never wore his pj's, slippers and robe to another owners meeting.
