Metrorail Opens Stations 77 And 78 - Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority - Brief Article

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) last month opened its 77th and 78th Metrorail stations--Columbia Heights, at 14th and Irving Streets, N.W., and Georgia Avenue-Petworth, at Georgia and New Hampshire Avenues, N.W.

The Mid-City Green Line Segment opened three months ahead of schedule and within its $643 million budget. With its completion, WMATA has added nearly three miles of track to its system, from Greenbelt in Prince George's County, Md., to the Anacostia neighborhood in Washington.
