D.c. to d.c. wide input power conversion - Products - Brief Article
Railway Age, Nov, 2001
The D series converters from Schaefer, Inc., maintain a stable output voltage while being powered with a wide input voltage range in such applications as on-board locomotive controls and communications equipment, telecommunications systems, process control systems, and power stations. The converters raise the input voltage when it is below a certain level to allow the main converter to achieve optimal efficiency during normal operation.
Available with d.c. input voltages from 10V d.c. to 400V d.c. and outputs from 20V d.c. to 400V d.c., all outputs are adjustable and fully regulated to offer high accuracy load and line specifications. All units in the D Series have remote sensing, over-voltage protection, and current limit protection on the output. The converters also include increased mechanical strength and tropical protection for tough environments.
