General Electric Co. appointed Tammee Thompson a leader in its Railcar Services unit, with responsibility for managing all intermodal assets (roughly 150,000 trailers, containers, and chassis). She also will be responsible for expanding GE's presence in the Mexico intermodal market as well as expanding distribution channels to shippers and the retail sector.

Thompson holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Georgetown University and an MBA degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining GE, she was a financial analyst for Morgan Stanley, a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group, a senior e-business consultant for Ernst & Young, LLC, and director-marketing research and customer service at ITT Sheraton/Caesars.
