0-Train DLRT - In Transit: Ottawa - diesel light rail transit - Brief Article

After little more than a year of operation, Ottawa's 0-Train DLRT (diesel light rail transit) line has been a success, and the two-year pilot project should he extended for another two years. That's the conclusion in a city staff report that found the five-mile route met or surpassed its ridership goals and improved access to Carleton University, eliminating some bus trips from congested streets despite its 20-minute headway.

The train has an ontime performance record of 99%, compared with 70% for t he bus system.
