The Magnetic Railway Pedestrian Gate from Magnetic Autocontrol controls pedestrian traffic over level and foot crossings. When a train approaches, an optional Sonalert sounds, followed by the closing of the gate to prevent track access and the opening of an emergency exit. In the closed position, the gate resists forced opening. After a train passes, Sonalert stops, the gate opens under power, permitting pedestrians to use the walkway across the tracks, and the emergency exit closes.
