Wabtec Corp. has appointed Barn/Anderson VP and GM of its latest acquisition, Schaefer Equipment. Anderson served previously as Schaefer's president and COO, and succeeds David Kostolansky, chairman and CEO, retired. Anderson joined Schaefer in 1999 and rose through the ranks from VP-manufacturing to VP and GM-operations.
He has worked in operations management at CCX, Edgewater Steel, and Rotek. Kostolansky spent 29 years at Schaefer, heading up product development, engineering, and marketing/sales. He served as president for 11 years, until taking the helm last January. Before joining Schaefer, Kostolansky held engineering and management positions at Ingersoll-Rand, Cleveland Electric Illuminating, Union Railroad, and Briggs & Turivas.
