Railroads Put Data On Internet

Railway Age, March, 1999

Weekly performance reports of the six U.S. Class I railroads and Canada's two major rail carriers are available on the Internet (www.railroadpm.org), keeping a promise made to shippers following a series of outreach meetings last year.

The four measures that are being made public are total cars on line, average train speed, average terminal dwell time, and freight cars received without a bill of lading.
