Greenbrier will reopen Canadian plant - Industry Outlook - Trenton Works, Nova Scotia - Brief Article

Railway Age, March, 2002

One week after disclosing it had received orders for around 900 new freight cars, the Greenbrier Companies announced that it would reopen its Trenton Works factory in Nova Scotia to build 750 of them. Production at Trenton Works had been suspended in January due to a shortage of new business. In its mid-February announcment, Greenbrier said it was allocating nearly 100 newly-ordered cars to its Gunderson plant in Portland, Ore.

The company said these actions would give both plants backlogs big enough to carry them through or into the third quarter.
