Initially, TransLink cards are being used only for transit fares, but MTC expects to later expand their use to other transactions, with a test in San Francisco parking meters and garages scheduled later in the trial period. If the demonstration goes well, region-wide deployment on all Bay Area transit systems could begin this winner.
