Duos Technologies

Railway Age, April, 2008

Duos Technologies: Has been awarded security system contracts by two Class I railroads. One is to secure a large classification yard in the western U.S. Duos-developed intelligent video security and sensor technology will be used to establish a "virtual perimeter," providing continuous, active monitoring of the yard and railcars. The system is designed to function as an intrusion detector to identify a perimeter breach, assess threat risk, and promptly alert security personnel. Authorized rail security personnel can view real-time streaming video and video archives, both locally and over a network. Duos's second contract is for additional deployment of its Train Rider Detection System[TM] (TRiDST[TM]), which uses artificial intelligence to automatically

inspect passing trains for the presence of unauthorized riders or illegal cargo. The system minimizes the need for train stops by the U.S. Border Patrol, which is currently relying on random inspection.
