Global Rail Systems

Global Rail Systems (Marlin, Tex.): Has supplied automation systems to three railroads. CSX Transportation has completed installation and commissioning of a Modular Yard Automation (MYA) system at its Mobile, Ala., yard. MYA is a wireless switch control system with a programmable touch screen local control panel and a TrackMaster program for entrance/exit routing and stacked routing capability.

Missouri & Northern Arkansas Railroad, a RailAmerica subsidiary, has installed four FAS-PAS siding automation systems at two passing sidings. Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway has installed two FAS-PAS systems that also include an MYA switch that acts as a crossover to a third track off the siding. This system has CIP-1 audio frequency track circuits for presence detection to eliminate the switch from being thrown while occupied, as well as an auto-restore feature to restore the switch to its main line position if a diverging route is taken. Global Rail Systems supplies the railroad, transit, and industrial railroad markets with systems for main line switch control, yard switch control and automation, crossing warning systems, train detection technology, and train control and dispatching software.
