Toronto Transit Commission: Awarded Spadina Link Project Managers, a joint venture of Hatch Mort MacDonald, Delcan, and MMM Group, a seven-year project management services contract for the Spadina Subway Extension. The extension is the largest transit expansion project to be undertaken by the TTC.
With an estimated final cost of $2.63 billion, the 5.3-mile underground subway extension will be the first to reach beyond the City of Toronto limits, adding six more stations. It will link neighboring communities in York Region and feature a station at York University. The initiative was sponsored by three levels of government: the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario, and the City of Toronto/York Region. The project is expected to be completed and in revenue service by 2015.
