Los Angeles budgets $422 million for Metro Rail - Transit Update - Los Angeles County, California - Brief Article

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority has included $422 million in its draft FY 2003 budget for Metro Rail construction and operating costs. Among other expenditures, this will cover the start of construction next spring for the Eastside Extension of the Metro Gold Line from Union Station in downtown Los Angeles to Atlantic and Beverly.

The rail budget represents 16.2% of total expenditures projected by LACMTA.
