The great locomotive swap - Brief Article

In what is described as "one of the largest rail equipment exchanges ever completed," CSX Transportation has swapped 153 older four-axle locomotives for 31 newer, more powerful units with Locomotive Leasing Partners LLC, the joint venture of GATX Corp. and the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors.
CSXT received 25 SD70Ms, three SD6Os, and three GP6Os. Financial terms were not disclosed. LLP says the four-axle units acquired from CSXT will contribute to its fleet diversification plan. Some will be used for GP38-2 conversions; others will support LLP initiatives in the industrial marketplace.
