California's - Bay Area Rapid Transit funding - Brief Article

> CALIFORNIA'S budget for the fiscal year that began July 1 contains significant funding for BART. Among the major items are $725 million to extend the system from the Fremont terminal to downtown San Jose; $35 million for a commuter rail link between Fremont and San Jose; $5 million for a feasibility study of a new San Francisco Bay crossing; $6 million for refurbishing the Balboa Park Station in San Francisco; $20 million for a seismic retrofit and other improvements; $400,000 for a feasibility study of a new BART station in San Francisco; and $25 million to improve the East Bay Capitol Corridor intercity rail line between Oakland and San lose.
