Sumitomo acquires GeoFocus - Sumitomo Corp. of America - Brief Article

Sumitomo Corp. of America has acquired GeoFocus, a supplier of wireless GIS (geographic information systems) and GPS (global positioning system) technologies to the transportation industry, from Williams Controls, Inc. Former Federal Railroad Administrator Jolene M. Molitoris is president and CEO of GeoFocus LLC, as the company is now called.
GeoFocus' TrainTrac [R] TIMS (Train Information Management System), which provides train location, performance-to-schedule, and automated messaging and report generation, is in use on Florida's Tri-Rail (where it was developed), Metra (Chicago), Metrolink (Los Angeles), MBTA (Boston), and TRAX light rail (Utah). The company is based in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
