CN upgrades Track-Asset Management

Canadian National has completed implementation of Ensco, Inc.'s TrackIT Track Asset Management System. The Web-based system integrates CN track data--including track inventory, track geometry, rail condition, rail flaw, track quality, work program, and certain visual inspection data--enabling the railroad to manage its track inspection systems and track-related databases more effectively.

CN's track asset employees can use the data to monitor and analyze current track conditions, assess quality, and study track inspections and exception reports. The system also provides reporting tools, such as historical data comparison supporting track degradation analysis.
