Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, which is building a rubber-tired automated people-mover at Dulles International Airport, has contracted with Alcatel for a SelTrac[R] S40 communications-based train control system. The radio-based system, which uses spread-spectrum RF technology, will provide automatic train protection, operation, and supervision and centralized control.

Phase 1 of the people-mover, 2.16 miles, is expected to open in 2009.
