W.H. Miner wins export award

Railway Age, Dec, 1997

It was a proud day for the W. H. Miner Division of Miner Enterprises when U.S. Commerce Secretary William M. Daley presented it with the President's "E Star" award for continued excellence in exporting. Pictured at the award ceremony are, from the left, C. Richard Barney, Miner president; Jamie Kikulski, customer service coordinator; Michael L.

McGuigan, vice president-international sales; and Daley. The Commerce Secretary said that U.S. export strategy "depends on aggressive, innovative, and competitive businesses like W.H. Miner Division. Miner's success at marketing railcar components throughout the world proves that America's small businesses can compete effectively in the global economy." The "E" award is a two-step process. Miner won an "E" Certificate in 1992 before getting the "E" Star in '97 for continuing excellence.
