Intermodal sets new record in '97 - trailer/container freight train loadings - Brief Article

It took only the first 49 weeks of 1997 for intermodal loadings to outdistance those for all of 1996 and set a new annual record. Trailer/container loadings reached 8,239,577 on Dec. 6, 7% ahead of the comparable 1996 period and 1.1% more than the previous 52-week record of 8,153,942, which was set last year.
