New Jersey Transit - hires LS Transit Systems for preliminary research into restoring passenger rail services on 21.6 miles of track between Mercer and Somerset counties - Brief Article

Awarded a contract to LS Transit Systems, Bloomfield, N.J., for preliminary engineering studies and an environmental impact assessment for restoration of passenger rail service on the 21.6-mile West Trenton Line in Mercer and Somerset counties. The restored service would connect with NJ Transit's Raritan Valley Line, which serves Penn Station Newark.

The contract is funded with a $496,000 grant from the Federal Transit Administration.
