AMTRAK has appointed Mark Cane, formerly vice president-intermodal at Burlington Northern, as CEO of its Chicago-based Intercity Business Unit, effective Feb. 1. He began his railroad career as a cook on an Amtrak dining car when in college. Amtrak also appointed Daniela R. Winkler as vice president and general counsel, effective Jan. 19.
