New orders swell Greenbrier backlog - Greenbrier Industries - Brief Article

Greenbrier Industries' order books in mid-April carried a backlog of approximately 7,000 freight cars worth $400 million, thanks to new orders from TTX for 665 double-stack units plus the previously announced acquisition of a majority interest in Trentonworks Ltd.

Greenbrier reported growth in both manufacturing and leasing services. For the six-month period ended Feb. 28, revenues rose to $165.8 million, a 21% increase over the comparable year-ago period, and net earnings climbed to $5.7 million, 55% over the prior year.
