Koppers Industries - acquires tie-treating facility from Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Co - Brief Article

>KOPPERS INDUSTRIES has purchased Santa Fe's tie-treating plant at Somerville, Tex., and entered into a 12-year agreement under which Koppers will supply the railway with about one million treated crossties and other wood products annually. Thomas D. Loadman, vice president and general manager of Koppers Railroad Products and Services Division, called the purchase "a continuation of Koppers' long-term commitment to the railroad industry."
