Railway Age, August, 1996

AMTRAK'S RESERVATION SYSTEM will undergo a "major re-engineering," and Emmett H. Fremaux, Jr:, is being brought in as managing director of reservation system services to oversee the job. Fremaux comes to Amtrak from the District of Columbia Board of Elections and Ethics, where he has been executive director for 13 years.

Amtrak's reservation system involves 1,600 employees and an annual operating budget of $80 million. Three reservation call centers--in Fort Washington, Pa., Chicago, and Riverside, Calif.--handle more than 29.6 million calls annually.
