In Idaho, it's wagons ho! - Oregon Trail crossing reenactment - Brief Article

Sunset, August, 2000 by Julie Fanselow

* August 10-12. Idaho's Three Island Crossing, a treacherous ford of the swift Snake River, was among the most feared obstacles for 19th-century wagon trains traveling the Oregon Trail. At Three Island Crossing State Park in Glenns Ferry, Idaho, you can see the crossing reenacted (safely) on August 12, with horse-drawn wagons.

Other events include a parade, crafts fair, and barbecue. Or drop in at the new Oregon Trail History and Education Center. Glenns Ferry is 60 miles southeast of Boise via Interstate 84.
