"Please keep out, but do peek in" is the message conveyed by this handsome 5[1/2]-foot-tall fence that borders a beachfront sidewalk in La Jolla, California. Dark green paint, board-and-batten siding, and an upper band of window-shaped openings give it an architectural presence. Window grids are covered with copper mesh that blocks light but still allows views into the garden.
