Thanks for the recipes

When I saw the menu for "A Southwest Thanksgiving" (November, page 128), I immediately sent Evites to a few friends for a dinner party, with instructions to bring a dish from the menu. From the Guajillo-Tamarind Turkey to the Ancho Chile Pumpkin Pie to the sounds of the Buena Vista Social Club playing in the background, it was a wonderful blend of my Mexican and Cuban cultures.

After 30-plus years of making Thanksgiving dinner, Sean Yontz's Southwest feast was the hottest yet (my husband said it was his favorite of all time). The Roasted Poblano Gravy and Cornbread-Chorizo Dressing were truly outstanding. As Mr. Yontz promised, his dishes were a perfect blend of traditions, with a new flair.

Wow! That was the refrain from the 10 guests at our table. The Thanksgiving prep plan (page 135) allowed me to cook a number of the dishes in advance and reduce the last-minute frenzy that often makes Thanksgiving a bit stressful. I count on Sunset for reliable recipes. Thank you for always making me look good.
